As you know, in our world we deal in life and death situations. A disruption in our telecommunications services could impact the health of our patients or more dire, risk of losing a life. I wanted to express my praise and sincere thanks to CCC, your service department, and your technical staff. The group really knows when to deliver.
On Tuesday the 28th of August, the Evanston area experienced several hours of heavy rainfall. During this time the basement at one of our clinics flooded with several feet of water. This shorted out the Avaya switch and brought the entire site down. Due to the rain and flooding conditions, most if not all of the equipment was destroyed.
I placed a service call to the CCC service department at 3:20pm, I explained the problem and relayed the critical nature of the situation. Within 45 minutes your technician was on site, diagnosing the problems and working with another technician about the resolutions that could be implemented. At that time it was determined the quickest solution to restore service would be the complete replacement of the remote shelf. Working in coordination with a member of our technical staff, your two technicians replaced the down system and restored full service to the site by 5:30pm. This whole problem took a little over two hours to complete after placing a call for help. CCC replaced the remote shelf, reconfigured and installed a backup copy of the database, and brought all systems back online.
What a great team, these two individuals took care of our problems and made sure that everything was working correctly, before leaving the clinic. These types of conditions and emergency situations really test the ability, expertise, and responsiveness of an organization. I realize the Definity is a tank, and with our redundancy we have never really experienced a major loss of service. All that being said, it takes a good team, and a lot of ability and expertise to execute a plan quickly and accurately upon a moments notice. I just wanted you to know, you make my job a lot easier knowing that I can depend on you having the right people, the right products, and processes to get the job done.
